ECONOMIC THEORY
The article is devoted to the problem of opportunism in monopoly markets, which is so relevant for improving the welfare of the population and the effectiveness of regulating the interaction of market agents by the state and decision-making by the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation. The equilibrium of a monopolist is considered under the condition that the only variable non-price factor, quality, is present in the market. The functions of qualitative and quantitative marginal costs of a monopolist and a monopsonist are obtained. Models of opportunistic quality-price behavior of a monopolist and a monopsonist regarding the sale and purchase of goods, represented by models of quadratic quality prices (graphically, an inverted parabola and a parabola), the maximum and minimum values of which are determined by the corresponding opportunistic coefficients, are proposed.
In studies of opportunism, special attention was paid to the price behavior of the monopolist and monopsonist. An opportunistic increase in quality prices for a manufacturer-seller is a non-linear increase in price, at the same time it is a loss of income for buyers due to the purchase of a low-quality product at a high price.
An opportunistic reduction in quality price for the consumer buyer is a non-linear price reduction, at the same time it is a loss for sellers in profit due to the sale of high-quality goods at a low price.
In modern conditions of increasing labor productivity and deepening its specialization, infrastructure occupies a significant place in the system of social reproduction. The traditional idea of the essence of this scientific category is associated with the definition of its role as an auxiliary mechanism connecting the links of the reproductive process and ensuring the balance of its individual phases and stages. The expansion of digital technologies into all spheres of life necessitates a deeper study of the infrastructure content, its individual kinds and types in order to identify the most optimal contract that contributes to the growth of economic activity. The article examines the genesis of infrastructure theory, reveals its key features and forms of manifestation in various types of socio-economic systems. The patterns of the evolution of infrastructure as an object of economic analysis are revealed, from a local mechanism of logistical orientation to an independent industry complex of great strategic importance in national economies.
MANAGEMENT
The authors propose quantum mathematical methods of economic analysis of the organization of work of a company engaged in project activities, allowing to improve the quality of work due to the use of self-organization processes in corporate management with distributed control. The article provides a graphical illustration of the dependence of the volume of work on the development of working design documentation on the typical deadlines for the implementation of stages of experimental design work. The use of quantum analysis methods for economic analysis allows us to take into account both the need to ensure funding and the availability of labor resources of the relevant competencies. To improve the efficiency of the proposed economic model, the restrictions used for modeling are systematized. The paper presents the results of typical mathematical modeling. Mathematical tools for determining the minimum possible time for project implementation depending on the duration of sequential development processes and the limited labor resources have been developed. The proposed methods can be used to plan the deadlines for the implementation of stages of experimental design development of projects, as well as planning the workload of design departments when managing several projects. This provides an opportunity for analytical calculation of the maximum design capacities with available resources, as well as determining the need for labor resources of various competencies to implement the planned number of projects.
FINANCE AND CREDIT
This article presents the results of an empirical study of relationship between the market value of Russian companies, as proxied by the market-to-book ratio and traditional determinants against the backdrop of crisis periods. The analysis is based on the panel data; the sample is formed by data covering the 2013–2023 period for 60 largest companies representing nonfinancial sector of national economy. Since 2014 the sanction campaign can be divided into several stages reflecting the strength of their potential effect: diplomatic actions, measures taken against particular individuals and companies, sectoral sanctions (trade and financial restrictions, technology export bans), freezing of national financial assets, etc. The pattern of influence of shareholder value determinants has changed correspondingly. The estimates obtained show that profitability, operating risk and size are positively related to shareholder value, while leverage, liquidity, state ownership as well as sectoral effects demonstrate no statistical significance. Time dummies have strong impact over shareholder value: macroeconomic trends, sanctions regime and general risks have substantially lowered the market value of Russian companies.
REGIONAL ECONOMY
The purpose of the paper is to test the hypothesis of persistent divergent development of Russia’s regions. The authors applied fractal analysis to identify stable patterns in the dynamics of per capita monetary income of regional populations. The obtained values of the Hurst exponent and fractal dimension for the analyzed variables confirm the authors’ hypothesis about the persistence of interregional inequality based on the selected indicator. High values of the Hurst exponent and fractal dimension in some regions indicate an increase in interregional inequality. Regions with stable growth will continue to develop faster, while lagging regions will fall further behind. The results of our study highlight the importance of developing and implementing regional economic strategies aimed at reducing inequality and supporting less developed regions. The use of fractal analysis and the Hurst exponent in our research allowed for a deeper understanding of the dynamics and structural features of regional economic development, complementing traditional methods of economic analysis. The authors concluded that the dynamics of per capita monetary income exhibit a strong dependence on previous values, which on one hand indicates resilience to external shocks, and on the other hand suggests a conservation of existing trends towards divergence in the trajectories of economic development across the country’s regions.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES
The relevance of the study is determined from the position of the role of digital technologies in ensuring the competitiveness of an organization in the international market. The importance of digitalization of domestic companies in modern political conditions is established. The author defines the role of digital platforms as sites for ensuring mutually beneficial interaction between participants in international economic relations.
The main advantages of integration with these sites are identified: for the state, the company, and the individual consumer. Thus, the advantages for the state, first of all, are transparency and quality of the services provided. For consumers – access to a wide range of goods and services, the ability to purchase them on the most favorable terms. For companies – expansion of sales markets, and, as a result, greater profits.
In addition, the main disadvantages are identified: the need for high costs, the presence of highly qualified specialists, a high level of threat of data leakage.
A conclusion is formulated on the feasibility of expanding the digitalization of domestic companies based on the expansion of government support measures.
Over the years, the foreign providers’ services have been used in Russia to host multi-sport events. The organizer received a high-quality service at a foreign market cost, but Russia completely lacked a legacy based on the results of the events. The lack of high-quality and mature domestic systems, which appeared as a result of the introduction of restrictive measures for the country (as well as sanctions from the IOC and a number of Western countries), jeopardized hosting the large-scale sporting events in the Russian Federation. Accordingly, within the framework of the "Sport" domain, the digital support service for the client path of the "Organizer of Sporting events" was given a special priority. The article reveals the content of the digital platforms that accompany almost every step of the target client of the sports industry.
