Abstract

The ongoing processes in the global economic and political system in recent years have contributed to the development of the global economic crisis throughout the world, as well as in Russia. The reason contributing to the emergence of crisis situations in the global economy was first the pandemic of coronavirus infection, and in 2022 – sanctions imposed against the economic system of our country. All these factors have a negative impact, first of all, on the activities of organizations in the service sector, among which we can single out the fitness industry market, which, having not had time to recover from the negative impact on the economy of the pandemic, again found itself in a severe crisis situation due to the ongoing processes in the country in 2022. Sharp inflation, a decrease in the level of the solvency of the population, the decline in the income of fitness centers due to the outflow of the population from the country – all this directly affects the financial well-being of sports and fitness organizations. The article proposes an economic and mathematical model that reveals the dependence of the development of sports and fitness organizations on the crisis conditions of the economic development of the country. The use of forecasting methods of indicators characterizing the state of the fitness industry, based on the construction of regression models of dependence, will allow to determine the trends of its development depending on the prevailing macroeconomic indicators. The data obtained can be used by sports and fitness organizations to develop an anti-crisis management strategy for the coming years, which will allow implementing preventive measures when negative trends are detected.

Labor productivity is one of the most important aspects of production effectiveness and its constant growth is the key to bettering the economy of Russia. The tendencies of labor productivity vary in different countries and for Russia the most prominent differences are the growth of mechanization, automation and constant implementation of new technologies. These have been the priority for centuries, however the relevance of the human resources development as the way of increasing labor productivity has found its way into practice only in the last decades. Consequently, the goal of this paper is to analyze human resources and their role in labor productivity. The research is based on studying theoretic aspects of labor productivity and their development with time. The results of the analysis are proven by the evaluation of the social factor and its role in labor productivity growth, using statistics and official reports of a chosen company and its ways of managing human resources effectively.

REGIONAL ECONOMY

Abstract

The article proposes the author’s methodology for determining oil regions. The authors investigated various approaches to the identification of such regions, including the possibility of applying methods for determining resource-type regions to oil regions by replacing aggregated indicators for minerals with indicators specifically for oil. The shortcomings of the criteria underlying the proposed approaches have been identified (the most frequent are the availability of information only on minerals without oil details, as well as the provision of data on the region of registration of parent companies, often different from the regions in which the real activity takes place). When choosing the methodology and criteria for identifying oil regions, the authors recommend taking into account the special role of the federal center as one of the key actors in the formation of regional policy, since the leading role of the center is necessary in the management of the industry, which has a decisive impact on the federal budget and the economy of the country as a whole, and is also inevitable in the conditions of centralization of power and financial flows. A variant of determining the oil region through the share of the region in question in the total tax on the extraction of mineral redeemable (oil), payable to the federal budget by all regions, is proposed.

ISSUES OF HUMAN CAPITAL

Abstract

The article discusses various models of the structure of intellectual capital of commercial organizations. Despite the numerousness of these models, they do not fully reveal the depth and boundaries of this important element of corporate financial management. They are separated by the details and various aspects of assessing intellectual capital and its role in the success of commercial organizations. The article makes an important conclusion that the “deposit” state of intellectual capital without its activation and incorporation into other forms of capital does not provide a synergistic effect, which sharply weakens its role in the corporation’s achievement of economic success. An important component of the effective use of intellectual capital is a strategic approach to its application in the economic activities of commercial organizations. There is also no unity in methodological approaches when determining the efficiency of using intellectual capital. Intellectual capital management strategies cover different types of capital and the conditions of their interaction. Some strategies focus on the interaction of the structural elements of intellectual capital. The main result of all strategies is the conclusion that the management of intellectual capital should consist not only of its accumulation, but also of turning it into a competitive specific asset of the owner corporation.

Abstract

Currently, accounting for lease liabilities in Russia is regulated by the provisions of FSBU 25/2018 “Accounting for Leases”, as well as IFRS 16 “Leases”. FSBU 25/2018 “Lease Accounting” was developed on the basis of the international standard of the same name, which indicates the high relevance of ensuring the continuation of the process of introducing modern international methods into domestic accounting practice. Ultimately, this will make the accounting statements of Russian companies better and more reliable from the point of view of interested users, primarily investors and creditors. The authors emphasize that FSBU 25/2018 is more focused on observing the principle of priority of content over form. Consequently, the principle of property isolation, regulated as part of the assumptions in Russian regulatory documents, currently has less and less influence in the formation of financial statements. The article examines the features of the formation of data on obligations in the light of the reflection in the financial statements of Russian companies of information in accordance with FSBU 25/2018 “Accounting for leases”. A comparative description of the disclosure of data on the application of this standard in the reporting of listed Russian organizations was also carried out.

Abstract

This article investigates the significance of intangible assets in the capitalization value of companies. Intangible assets such as intellectual property, reputation, brand and human capital are becoming increasingly important in determining the value of a company and achieving competitive advantage. The paper, with the help of economic and statistical methods of analysis, attempts to study the trend that confirms the growing importance of intangible assets in enhancing the value and growth potential of organizations. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the importance of intangible assets in today's digitalization.

Based on resource-based approaches and signal theory, the paper proposes the hypothesis that at the current stage of development of the global community and economy, associated with the emergence and spread of information and communication technologies, intangible assets such as reputation, brand value and image become a strategic factor in decision-making and management policy development, due to the significant impact on the key parameters of organizations’ activities.

As a result, we got confirmation that intangible assets contribute to the growth of company value. The study shows that companies with strong intangible assets have higher market capitalization and financial performance.

Abstract

This article is devoted to describing the results of a study of the impact of the implementation of ERP systems on the basic financial indicators of the company. To manage an empirical study, data of petrochemical Russian companies was used, since this type of business is currently the most advanced in terms of the implementation of ERP systems. Assessing the effectiveness of such implementations is of interest to managers not only of large businesses, but also of SMEs, since the implementation process requires significant financial investments and labor costs, but currently there are obstacles with the scientific substantiation of methods for this assessment. Software vendors advertise attractive numbers, usually based on implementation results, but they are interested in sales and may inflate them. In this regard, we proposed to evaluate the impact of the implementation of ERP systems on the financial performance of a company based on the Monte Carlo method, which is well adapted to operating with random variables. Variables characterizing cost savings, net profit growth and NPV value were selected as basic performance indicators. As a result of the study, the obtained data shows the probability distribution in relation to the designated variables.

Abstract

The article discusses corporate social responsibility in the light of the new federal law “On the Experiment of Establishing Special Regulations in Order to Create the Necessary Conditions for Partner Financing Activities in Certain Subjects of the Russian Federation and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation”. The adoption of this law is a big step for Russia towards the implementation of ESG principles, since one of them is precisely the social responsibility of business, therefore, the article reveals the obligations of Islamic financial institutions in terms of determining mandatory and recommended corporate social responsibility policies for all aspects of their activities in accordance with management standard No. 7 AAOIFI Corporate Social Responsibility, Conduct and Disclosure of Islamic Financial Institutions. Based on the results of the study, the article concludes that the prerequisites are specific obligations that an Islamic financial institution must fulfill, while there is guidance on independent methods by which these specific obligations can be implemented in the following types of policies: customer selection policy; policy of responsible business dealing with clients; policies regarding income and expenses prohibited by Sharia law; employee welfare policy; zakat policy; policy towards Qard al-Hassan; policy to reduce adverse environmental impacts; policy regarding the investment contribution to the project of public promotion, development or the idea of environmental protection; best customer service policy; policy on micro and small businesses and social savings and investment; charity policy; Waqf management policy.

In addition, the article concludes about the ideological proximity of ESG principles and partner (Islamic) financing, which we have formulated as “corporate social responsibility”.

Abstract

The current stage of development of both society as a whole and the economy in particular is characterized by a high demand for information technologies, including database management systems. In the process of functioning of organizations at the present stage, there are many tasks that require the use of database management systems. The scope of application of a DBMS covers various areas of activity and levels of management, from solving applied accounting problems and automating organizational management systems to forecasting trends in the economic development as a whole. In the current economic and political situation on the Russian market, the demand for domestic developments in the field of information technology has sharply increased. The need for import substitution has significantly increased the use of Russian DBMS in both the public and private sectors of the Russian economy. This has affected both open-source and closed-source database management systems, while the use of open-source software products is becoming increasingly popular. State procurements of DBMS developed by domestic manufacturers have already become predominant in 2022, which naturally leads to the development of domestic software products.
